Notable Works

Ward's literary career began with her debut novel, Sleep Toward Heaven, which tells the intertwining stories of three women in Texas: a death row inmate, a doctor, and a widow. This poignant and powerful narrative established Ward as a fresh voice in fiction, showcasing her ability to tackle complex subjects with grace and empathy. Ward's second novel, How to Be Lost, explores themes of family, loss, and the search for identity. The story follows a woman who sets out to find her missing sister, unraveling family secrets along the way. The book received critical acclaim for its compelling plot and emotional depth.

Her novel, The Same Sky, is a powerful narrative that weaves together the lives of a woman in Texas struggling with infertility and a young girl from Honduras trying to find a better life in the United States, is another highlight. Inspired by real-life stories, this novel highlights Ward's ability to address contemporary social issues with sensitivity and insight. Another notable success is our July Book of the Month, The Jetsetters. A departure from her earlier works, the story combines humor and pathos as it follows a dysfunctional family on a Mediterranean cruise.
