A Re-Introduction To Us

It was only five short months ago that the Book Hive launched its first post alongside the new year. Since then, we have had an amazing time putting out content, reviews, and recommendations that all our Hive members can connect with. Whether that is by discovering your next favorite read in one of our Reading Lists or joining in on our monthly Busy Bee Book Club book of the month, however, we have yet to introduce ourselves properly.
Since the first post, we have strived to make inclusivity and diversity the forefront of our community. To highlight authors and works from all backgrounds and walks of life. To make all our Hive members feel like they had a place here at The Book Hive. This will continue to be the guiding principle of our community as we work to grow and connect with other Busy Bees searching for a place they can fit in.
Who We Are
The Book Hive is a community for all who share a love and passion for reading. It began with a goal to establish a community where all could feel seen and heard as we share book recommendations and offer book reviews. But we are so much more than just that. There are so many pages to our story that come together to make us truly shine.
The Busy Bee Book Club
The cornerstone of our community here at The Book Hive connects our community behind a monthly book pick and opens the door for dialogue within our community. In addition, each of our Books of the Month selections receives a thought-out and carefully crafted review to provide our community with the very best insight into the world of each book. The Busy Bee Book Club was designed for readers who seek a sense of community and bookmanship while still needing time and space to juggle all of the responsibilities of daily life, whether they be world, life, or, most commonly, both. It gives a reasonable and attainable goal: read one book this month. And read knowing that when you are done, regardless of how quickly you get through it, a community will be ready to engage with you.

Welcome to the one-stop shop for all of our blog posts. Here, you will find everything we put out, from our monthly book reviews to our reading lists and author spotlights. Built to be as user-friendly as possible, with reading times, descriptions, and filters, you are sure to find what you are looking for.
The Hivebrary
If you're a library fanatic like us, you will love our Hivebrary! It is the place to find all of our monthly reading list recommendations featuring twelve new books every month curated from our genre of the month. So far, since our launch, we have featured books from the coming-of-age, romance, chick lit, comedy, and AAPI genres, with so many more to come. Moreover, each of our reading lists features a "Rainbow Reads" selection dedicated to highlighting books featuring LGBTQIA+ stories.

We believe that books can change lives in a truly profound way. Often, in our most desperate moments, when all else becomes too much to handle, we can find solace and comfort within the pages of a book. We are dedicated to sharing our love of books and connecting readers to many new reading possibilities. And we love hearing from our Hive! We love highlighting books that can connect and touch our readers and want to continue to bring you only the best.
Embracing Change
When The Book Hive was launched, we had a clear vision of how to structure our community and platform. Like all things, we found roadblocks and challenges that had to be addressed; one of those was the overwhelming amount of monthly posts. Not only because of the quantity but also the confusion within our blog categories. And so, as is usually the case, change was an inevitable necessity. Moving forward, our blog has been restructured to provide a more cohesive feel and continue to bring all the blog posts we love to our community more simply.
Unfortunately, to accomplish this restructuring, we had to pause our publications during May to allow us time to prepare for the future. However, we do not want to forget our planned highlights for the month. In addition to restructuring our blog, we have revamped our website design to feel more balanced and structured. With our updated structure, now up alongside this post, we are not only launching our June Busy Bee Book Club book of the month but also including our May book of the month pick for those who would like to enjoy the read still and added our May reading list, featuring our highlighted books for the month in The Hivebrary. While this decision was difficult for us, it ultimately led to what we believe will be a much more fulfilling experience for our community moving forward.

Our team is more invigorated than ever to continue bringing you the best book reviews and recommendations. We hope that you will enjoy this new version of The Book Hive and will continue to strive to always bring the best we have to offer to our community. As we turn the page on May, we are excited for all that June and the rest of this year hold in store for us.
